The Real Deal

Welcome to the Real Deal...

My experiences with the myths that are included on the mythbusters page are listed below:

  • Toast is more likely to land buttered side-down when dropped

    BUSTED!

On all 3 of my tries, the toast landed down on the non-buttered side. But, that was only because I was dropping it with that side faced down. I tried it one more time with the side that had butter ,faced down, and so it landed on the same side. So, my conclusion is that the toast lands on the side that you drop it on. It shows preference on landing on the buttered side down.

  • A wine glass shatters if a person sings at the right tone

    CONFIRMED!

I tried my level best to sing at the right tone to break the wine glass, and I didn't totally break the wine glass to pieces, but I did crack it and "chip" off a piece. I sing and take lessons and all that, but this was still a challenge. I take Indian Classical music which completely trains your voice, so I didn't stress my voice that much... You have to be more older and more experienced with your voice and singing to be able to actually break the glass. My conclusion is that it is possible to shatter a wine glass if you sing at the right tone!

  • A rolling stone can truly gather no moss

    CONFIRMED!

In my results, when I rolled a stone down a hill, moss covered it... but didn't actually grow onto it. It's unlikely, because it's just getting covered in moss and it has barely any time to grow onto it. My conclusion is that an rolling stone can truly gather no moss!

  • SPINOFF: Leaving a can of aerosol spray or cola inside a hot car can cause it to explode

    BUSTED!

On one of our rarely sunny days, I turned on the heat in my car to full blast. I then put some cans of Sprite, Coke, and Mountain Dew inside and left it there for a couple of hours. I returned to find that the cans of soda had become unbearably hot, but hadn't exploded( don't worry, I took the neccessary precautions if they exploded). My conclusion is that leaving a can of soda in a hot car won't cause it to explode (aerosol spray is the same thing as soda, basically).
